24Title:  Kenneth W. Duckett Papers
 Creator:  Duckett, Kenneth W.
 Dates:  1960-2003
Abstract:  Kenneth W. Duckett (1924-2014) was a curator at the Ohio Historical Society (OHS) in Columbus, Ohio, from 1959-1964. He acquired the papers of Warren G. Harding for OHS, including love letters between Harding and Carrie Phillips. Duckett and other people and entities were sued by the Harding family when the existence of the letters was made public, and Duckett microfilmed the letters because he feared the originals would be destroyed. Duckett kept a detailed diary of the acquisition of the Harding-Phillips correspondence and the controversy that followed. The collection consists of correspondence, diaries and diary entries, draft and final versions of articles and books, invoices, legal documents, microfilm, memoranda, newspaper clippings, notes, press releases, reports, speech texts, and transcribed recollections.
